Mike Schapiro Sound Design

Biography

I am a post-production sound editor, sound designer, and voice actor for movies, games, and television. The projects I’ve worked on include “World of Warcraft: Cataclysm,” “The Day The Earth Stood Still,” “The Cabin in the Woods,” “Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2,” and “Sonic and SEGA All-Stars Racing.”

I compose original music, mainly for fun, but professionally as well. I have a CD available on iTunes.

While still a student at the Savannah College of Art and Design (BFA, Sound Design, 2006), I lectured on Reason 2.5 and 3.0, and helped teach classes in Avid Pro Tools.

An extremely quick study in any studio or production hardware and software, I am highly proficient with Pro Tools versions 5 through 11, Cycling74's MaxMSP, numerous audio plug-in packages like Waves Mercury, GRM Tools, SoundToys, and McDSP - as well as building my own custom hardware controllers.

I also have experience in video-game design, museum exhibit design and installation, interactive art design, and hardware and electronics design. I continue to write music and explore new ways to pursue my passion for sound.
