Education:

•Currently a Sophomore at the Savannah College of Art and Design, majoring inGaming and Interactivity Design with a minor in Sound Design

•Graduated from Evanston Township High School in 2002.

Awards and Recognitions:

• (February 2002) Won the Illinois Music Educators Association Secondary General Music Division 2001 State Composition Contest Award for 1st place in the Avant Garde/Electronic Category. (Composed electronic music with Opcode’s Musicshop, Roland MIDI equipment and a G4. )
•Dean's List at the Savannah College of Art and Design
• Chosen for participation in the Young Evanston Artists city-wide art fair, beginning in elementary school.
• Participated in the Rising Star program at SCAD in the summer of 2001. Studied in the fields of Graphic Design and 2-D Design. Earned 11 credit hours.
• Participated in the Summer 2000 High School Institute at Columbia College, Chicago. Earned one credit hour in Electronic music with an A grade.
•Presented at the Second Annual Illinois Student Technology Conference in March 1999.

Projects (Current and Previous):

• Designed a gallery exhibit showcasing student art, literature, and music responding to the September 11th tragedy, for Evanston Township High School and the Northwestern University Block Gallery of Art, opened March 15th.
• Worked closely with another artist (Ian McConville) to create the first version of the www.machall.com comic website from December 2000 through July 2001. (Was not involved with latest site design, however.)
• Previously enrolled in 3 independent studies at ETHS: Multimedia under Dr. David Fodor, Graphic Design/Computer Art under Mrs. Pamela Sloan, and Music Composition under Mr. Charles Abplanalp.
• Created and sold “Sculpeytures” (clay figurines made with Sculpey modeling clay), at Custer’s Last Stand annual professional art fair in Evanston, and at annual gift fairs at Beth Emet Synagogue and the Jewish Reconstructionist Congregation in Evanston, IL.
• Working on soundtrack for a game titled Crunchtime, project is currently in stasis.

Work/Volunteering:

• Volunteered to help create a children’s library (including computerized book database system) for the Reba Place Nursery School, Marsha Ettema, Director.
• Volunteered at numerous Chute Middle School and Dawes Elementary School fundraiser events.
•Worked at Teller-Madsen museum design firm.

 

Application/Scripting Experience:

Prefer Mac OS (OSX or OS9 or variants), skilled with Windows (95, 98, 2000 Professional, XP), some UNIX knowledge.

Advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Indesign, and Macromedia Dreamweaver. Good working knowledge in Macromedia Flash and Actionscript.

Skilled with Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, 3D Studio Max 6, Digidesign ProTools 6.2, Propellerheads' Reason 2.5, and all Microsoft Office applications.

Good HTML knowledge, Good PHP3 and 4 knowledge. Some UNIX shell scripting knowledge, etc. Dabbled in just about everything.
